Ahhh....chew. Spring Break 2008.

So the time has come once again for the Collegiate world to be drunk for 168 straight hours. That's right, it's time for Spring Break.  A time for vacations, road trips, relaxation...a time to get away from it all; all the stress of exams, pressure from professors, and in my case, the 1 hour and fifteen minute drive to Irving everyday.

Unfortunately, being a baseball player, I've never been able to have a "spring break".  My schedule is always full of practices and games.  This never bothered me much, as most of you know, i love baseball, and the fact that i can't go to Florida or South Padre doesn't bother me at all.  I'd much rather try to win a national championship than be in a motel six, passed out with a bunch of other drunk people in a place I'm unfamiliar with.  Baseball definitely wins on the "would you rather" question.

What does bother me, however, is that spring break is suppose to be a break. It's not really much of a break for me this year.  I am in five classes, only getting twelve hours for it, have to write 6 papers for one class, read a 500 page novel for another, a 200 page book for another and do an assignment for another,  take a test and write a paper for another class, AND study for two exams the Tuesday i go back!!! What in the hell kind of break is that!?!? I have more work to do on my week off than i do when I'm in school. Lame if you ask me.  I vote to change the name of spring break to "Spring Break your Mental State" because by Friday, that's probably what is going to happen.  Mom, Dad, have the tranquilizer darts ready.  I might need to be tranqed if i go on some kind of stressed-out rampage.

Another reason this spring break sucks is because I'm sick, hence the title "Ahhh...chew". "Ahhh" I'm relaxing, "Chew" i just sneezed.  It's hard to get my humor on the Internet. You really have to hear me say it to think it's funny.  I woke up earlier at about 11:00 P.M. to a 101.5 fever, couldn't breath, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, heavy chest, etc.  I think I've had some sort of illness in February/March part of the year for the last 6 years.  Oh well, i have my bendryl, box of tissues, and 2 novels. I'm ready to take on the school world.
